Sam Berger is an artist who received her Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis. She now has returned to the Detroit area. As a lens based, and primarily photographic artist, she captures the world and presents it to her viewers. Her artwork is a mirror of herself and her life experiences, a lens through which she investigates and continually attempts to understand all of the layered aspects of herself as well as the world around her. She seeks to engage the viewer in architectural spaces and have them walk in between her hanging fabric panels. Whether printing on fabric, metal, or another material, she strives to engage with her audience and push the limits of what a photographic image can be.
